I would highly recommend Dr. Maria Kirzhner for any surgery that you may need. Her Office Manager Stephanie Kandetzki also did an excellent job in helping me with the paperwork required. I met them both in April of 2023 when I had to have a good part of my lower eyelid removed and new skin grafted due to basal cell carcinoma. The procedure seemed quite odd to me as I had to have my upper lid sewn to my lower lid for a while; however, Dr. Kirzhner explained this to me so that I felt comfortable having the procedure completed. It has been almost a year now and you can hardly tell that I had surgery. Both are so down to earth and made me feel like I had known them all my life which made this difficult process much easier. They stayed in contact with me after the surgery to assure all was progressing as expected. They truly care about their patients and do excellent work.
I would have rated them higher if that was an option.
Dr. Kirzhner is not only highly skilled; she cares deeply about her patients. She is confidence-inspiring, compassionate, and treats the whole patient. She took extra care to make sure I was comfortable before the surgery. She listens and answers all questions. I would recommend her heartily.
For almost a year I had been experiencing refraction of oncoming car lights while driving at night such that I avoided doing this. I thought it was due to growing cataracts but realized it was due to my eyelashes turning down and in as my drooping lids put pressure on them. Dr. Kirzhner performed eyelid surgery in Aug. and I took my annual trip to Hatteras Is. in Oct. An emergency required I return home one evening. I was on the road before I realized 4 hrs. of the 6 hr. drive would be in the dark! I was amazed that there was almost no refraction of oncoming lights! Prior to surgery I had been looking through turned down eyelashes. Dr. Kirzhner is a very caring and excellent surgeon, and I am looking better in both senses if the word. Also I am a confident night driver again.
Every morning when I look at my eyes, I thank Dr Kirzhner for the fabulous job she did on my lower lids (Bags). She is simply a magician. I could not be any happier with the results!
